About
The Family Jewels 5K, formerly known as the Jaimeson Jones Memorial 5K, is an annual trail run/walk in honor and memory of our son, Bothell XC runner Jaimeson Jones. Jaimeson died on October 7, 2010 at the age of 20 of a recurrence of testicular cancer. Beautiful and historic Saint Edward State Park was his favorite place to run.
The FJ5K funds the Jaimeson Jones Memorial Scholarship. Our missions are to save young men's lives by educating about testicular cancer, and to provide scholarships to students whose sibling had cancer. Caring for a child with cancer devastates a family not only emotionally but financially, all-too-frequently leaving insufficent funds to send siblings to college. Our mission was inspired by Jaimeson himself, who bequeathed his own college savings to his two younger sisters.
This will be a timed event.
